Thedesignfiles: “Tell me a little about your background – what did you study and what path led you to what you’re doing now?”
“I’d almost bet I’m the first person with a Chemistry degree to grace your blog!
I think, like a lot of people, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. So, when I finished school, even though my best marks were in English and Painting, I thought the more sensible thing to do would be to study Commerce and Science. That lead me to a very sensible career as a management consultant working on projects for companies like banks and airlines, both of which I also used a lot; I flew ridiculous amounts and was paid ridiculously well. That was pretty seductive, but on some really fundamental level I knew it wasn’t what I was meant to be doing with my life, it wasn’t what I was passionate about.
I was volunteering at art galleries on weekends just to get my ‘fix’. Eventually I walked into a newsagent one night wanting to buy a mag but just couldn’t find what I wanted. I wanted to read about real people who’d found what they were passionate about in life and how they’d gone about pursuing it. When I walked out of that newsagent and I hadn’t found a mag but I had found what I was going to do. I was going to make a mag for people like me.”

Theo ông Phương, từ ngày xưa, người dân đã từng biết
tận dụng những bài thuốc từ cây cỏ để chữa các
dạng căn bệnh hiểm nghèo. Trong xóm
phần lớn là người dân tộc phải họ
còn lưu duy trì được đông đảo các dạng cây thuốc quý hiếm.

kỷ trước). “Chúng tôi cũng không rõ ràng vì sao người Hoa lại quý phái đây sinh sống. song khi họ đến đây, đã kịp thời hòa nhập mang cộng đồng tại đây. đa dạng y sĩ người Hoa từng truyền dạy cho người dân về thuyết âm dương ngũ hành, y học, y lý của người Hoa, trong số đó mang thông tin về huyệt đạo. bên cạnh việc học thuốc dân tộc, các bác sĩ địa phương đã từng biết tiếp thu những hãi nghiệm quý báu của người Hoa”, ông Phương kể.
Ông Phương cho rằng, chính mình ông có niềm mê say đặc thù với nghề bốc thuốc chữa trị căn bệnh
cứu người nên từng cực kỳ ham mê nghiên cứu, học
hỏi. Ông được học kiến thức về huyệt đạo qua người y sĩ người
Hoa tên Trương Văn Lộc. Ông Lộc là một y
sĩ ở ẩn tại Ba Chẽ trong thời gian rất dài.
Sau đó, ông Phương nối tiếp học thầy Đỉ Lý – người nức tiếng trị quái căn bệnh bằng “bùa ngải”.
Người thầy nối tiếp của ông Phương là “ông Quân bùa ngải” –
người nổi danh điều trị “quái bệnh” bằng những lá ngải.
Chuyên điều trị chứng bệnh hiểm nghèo
Theo ông Phương, hàng đầu nhờ sự yêu thích, chịu khó khăn sắm tòi,
học hỏi, tiếp thu hoảng hồn nghiệm dân gian, bên cạnh những phương thức điều trị
bệnh của người Hoa mà ông từng đúc
rút được những phương pháp thức điều trị bệnh
vô cùng độc đáo, kỳ lạ.
Theo ông Phương, những bệnh bình thường như
phong hàn, đau đớn bụng, ho, hen, nhức đầu, băng huyết cho đến những chứng bệnh nan y như “mở khóa đầu” “ngã ngựa”,
sốc hồn, méo mồm… ông cũng không sợ.

với một số căn bệnh nan y như căn bệnh “mở khóa đầu” –

Ông Phương cho rằng, phương thức hóa giải chính bằng
bí quyết dùng ngải đã luyện sẵn, dùng hương
để đốt ngải, châm vào những huyệt đạo trực tiếp của
mầm bệnh. Bước đầu châm những huyệt đạo “độc đạo” để không nên nguồn bệnh lây.
Tiếp đó, nối tiếp châm ngải, dùng hơi nóng và thuốc của ngải để khai thông kinh sợ mạch.

Ông Phương chứng tỏ, thuốc lá sử dụng
để đắp vô cùng quý và hiếm. Nó chỉ mọc
vào tháng 3-4 (âm lịch). Vào mùa đông thì cây sẽ chết.
